Role: Network Security Specialist
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Long Term Contract
Scope of Work

• Design, develop, deliver and enhance security appliances.
• Perform work on security appliances utilizing manufacture standards.
• Prepare detailed specifications and technical design documents.
• Develop new rules, configuration, and integrations to meet requirements.
• Help identify and resolve gaps between requirements and technical design.
• Work closely with the enterprise architecture group to understand system requirements that drive the analysis and design of secure and quality technical solutions.
• Insure that solutions are aligned with security strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards.
• Promote security awareness and best practices while supporting other areas of the IT business.

Goals

• Follow the Information Security methodologies and standards for system configuration, code, rule, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of security appliances and software.
• Deliver the final product/project on time and within budget.
• Work in a collaborative environment with other members of the security team, server team, network team, enterprise architects and project managers.

• Responsible for configuring the Firewall, IPS, SIEM, NAC, and other security appliances.
• Day to day involvement with server, network and enterprise architecture teams.
• Troubleshoot incidents and performance issues with a sense of urgency.
• Enforce security standards by promoting Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
• Provide input in problem solving by using technical, time management, and analytical skills.
• Follows Change Management procedure in the deployment of configuration changes into the host environment.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Display a high degree of inquisitiveness and an eagerness to learn at a detailed and abstract level.
• Highly self-motivated and organized, with a strong business sense to capture and fulfill the business requirements for all products and articulate in an architecture model.
